Uncovering the Mystery of Craig Price the Warwick Slasher : The gruesome murders of Rebecca Spencer and Joan Heaton
In the late 80’s, number 60 Inez Avenue was home to the Heaton family. Joan Heaton, 39, was a mother of two young daughters, 10-year-old Jennifer and 7-year-old Melissa. Joan was previously married to a Sargent named John Heaton who was the father of both her children. However, sadly he took his own life just a few years before this case. So, at this point, it was just the three girls together, taking on the world. The Heaton family was extremely close, possibly due to the shared loss of their father and spouse. All three girls were close, they shared everything and the girls confided in their mother. Joan herself was close with her sister and her mother. It was a strongly female-dominated family. It was just the gals supporting one another.
However, on September 4th, 1989, Joan’s mother and sister became concerned about her. It was the end of Labor Day weekend, and they had not seen or heard from her, which was unusual. They often spent holidays as well as other occasions together, and they went out anytime they had time on their hands but this time was different and for no apparent reason. On Monday, they constantly called and texted her, as well as everyone she knew, but they were unable to reach her. So on Monday morning, her mother and sister went down to Joan’s house to see whether she was all right.
